Vacation Part Two

Two finals down and a two week break to compensate, pas mal. My actual American momma arrived on Wednesday, I have been dragging her from museum to sight to café to museum all over the city (vacation is difficult). Pictures and detailed updates will most likely come after vacation ends, so stay tuned kiddies. For now, I'll just share that we went to Salle Pleyel to see the Radio France philharmonic perform Brahms' symphonies one and four, I probably drooled all over my seat from excitement. Last night was the reunion of my two mothers for dinner, where Brigitte promptly teared up when talking about me and how I will eventually have to leave her, all the emotions, eek, I am considering packing her in my suitcase and bringing her to America in June.

Tomorrow we're up at 5am to head to London for the day (just your average casual day trip to another country), then an evening flight over to Copenhagen for a couple of days (!!) to visit the homeland/find my Danish husband/discover the one sandwich without fish or pork. Not necessarily in that order.

Detailed updates and pictures coming in a week or so, mostly featuring Awkward Photos of Rachel In Front of Parisian Monuments/Metro Stations/Bridges/Anything Taken by Maman. Oh, also, for those of you not intently following the French elections we now have a Sarkozy-Hollande battle in the works, as well as various degrees of shock and shame and worry over Le Pen's basically 20% third-place win. There's your politics update for the day, free of charge!
