Baby's First Handwritten Essay

Yeah, not feelin' this.
What up four handwritten pages of French nonsense! My hand doesn't really thank you!

Aussi: just before on the television, my host mom alerted me that there was something I would be interested in coming on. I turned on the t.v. to find the French version of the Academy Awards...for classical music (!!), giving awards for best new arrangement, best solo performance, best orchestral performance, etc., and featuring mini-concerts by the nominees. Uh, get on this level, America.

I also experienced my first lunch at the "Resto U" today (University cafeteria), with my language buddy. It was surprisingly clean and normal looking, although there wasn't very much for a vegetarian to eat. For three euro you get six "points", and the different foods available that day have different numbers of points. Since I was opting out of the meat pizza, meat entrée, and all the meat and fish salads, I ended up with a very strange meal: a pear, an apple, a piece of bread, a side salad consisting of nothing but bean sprouts and one slice of tomato (??), and a yogurt. (My language buddy, upon seeing my tray, asked me, "Is this how vegetarians normally eat?" Heh... also she didn't know what tofu was, and due to my limited French knowledge of how to explain food, all I could come up with was "it's soy!")

My host mom just came in the room and was so excited to see my handwritten essay that despite my feeble protests of "No it's so bad! No really I'm writing about ancient French, I don't know what's going on!" she took and it and is now reading it. Oh, don't judge me, French mama.

Morning class tomorrow, so I'm off to bed. Bisous à tous et à toutes !
