Paris Sous La Neige

Not shown: guy on the fourth floor smoking in his bathrobe and staring at the snow.

But don't worry, guys - my newly-founded herb garden is safe:

Only a quick update since I have approximately three books to start finish in the next eight hours. Suffice it to say my weekend was lovely, filled with good company and good food! Speaking of, here are pictures from the pâtisserie course I took yesterday afternoon from one of the host mothers. Also included are photos of her apartment since it was ridiculously, offensively gorgeous.

Pâte à choux (nope, not garlic knots - those are sugar crystals)

Profiteroles au chocolat (with homemade vanilla ice cream!!)

Don't remember what these are called, but it's homemade vanilla ice cream, pâte à choux pastry, and caramel.

Now that's just rude.

View onto the Jardins de Luxembourg.

Also, fun fact, what you can't see in these photos is that the apartment was literally covered in dead animal furs and skins, used for every imaginable purpose. (There was even a lamp made out of deer hide...) I surreptitiously snuck the unknown-animal fur seat cover off my chair before sitting down and attempted to step carefully around the giant bear(?) fur rug in the living room. Sheesh.

Welp, time to work. À bientôt !

x R.

PS: Sunday afternoon music of choice.
